Teaching Recognition (TR) is based in Educational Development – within Academic Development. The TR programme manages the ADEPT Direct recognition scheme. We aim to recognise and continue to promote excellence in teaching and learning through the QMUL Strategy target of engaging all staff in the process of seeking Fellowship, Senior Fellowship or Principal Fellowship, National Teaching Fellowship (NTF) and the Collaborative Award for Teaching Excellence (CATE) of the Higher Education Academy (HEA), through our QMUL ADEPT Fellowship programme.

Apply for HEA Fellowships
By applying to become a Fellow (of any category) you will have the opportunity to:
- think deeply about and thereby enhance the quality and effectiveness of your work in the area of teaching and supporting learning in higher education;
- gain national and increasingly international recognition for your role as a teacher and/or supporter of learning within the higher education context.
The appropriate teaching recognition for most University staff is a Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy (HEA) following the guidelines for Descriptor 2 (D2) although staff may wish to apply for other types (Descriptors) of HEA Fellowship. To receive support to write your application or to discuss any related issues please contact the ADEPT team.

Next deadline – final draft APP submission is 28th June 2019 (AFHEA and FHEA only)
Other deadlines and panel dates 2019 :
Deadline 6 September. Panel – October 2 (All Fellowship categories).
Deadline 1 November. Panel – November 27 (All Fellowship categories).

We provide support for staff with teaching responsibilities to obtain recognition from the Higher Education Academy (HEA). Staff seeking ADEPT Fellowships should register their interest with the ADEPT team, and will then receive support to write their applications.
Staff seeking QM HEA Fellowships should register their interest with the ADEPT team and will then receive support to write their applications. Applicants are encouraged to take advantage of support available from the TR team (and School based mentors) to enable them progress more quickly to completion.
